‘In the mix’ with Samsung and 94.7

ULTRA South Africa, the world’s biggest and most successful independent electronic music festival, is coming to South Africa this February. Samsung Electronics excitedly announced its sponsorship of this event at the end of 2016 and as part of this sponsorship, the company will be offering one lucky local DJ the opportunity of a lifetime.

“Samsung is collaborating with 94.7’s Block Party show to afford one lucky up-and-coming South African DJ the chance to spin their tunes at the Ultra event, performing on the Samsung Galaxy stage alongside well-known local DJ’s. Samsung is one of the world’s most pioneering and high performing brands and is thrilled to offer a young musician this exhilarating chance,” says Justin Hume, Director: Marketing at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

The 94.7 and Samsung ‘In the Mix Competition’ runs until the 17th of February and DJs can submit their top mix by uploading it to 947.co.za. Mixes will be played and voted for by listeners of the Block Party show. To provide some added incentive to listeners, Samsung will also be giving away tickets to ULTRA SA, so it is important to stay tuned to Block Party every weekend.

The ULTRA SA 2017 Festival will see dozens of top quality artists from around the world, including David Guetta, Martin Garrix and South African international dance music sensation, Black Coffee, perform over two days in Cape Town and Johannesburg, to tens of thousands of fans per show.

“We want to take an epic experience and make it even more awesome, in a way in which customers have gowned accustomed to Samsung’s innovative technology. As innovators, we aim to break the barriers of the current festival experience and as proud supporters of local talent, we want to give the right DJ the chance show us his/her talent,” Hume concludes.
