Ultra, bigger and better with Samsung

ULTRA South Africa is taking place this weekend and Samsung, as sponsor, is excited to be part of this premium electronic music festival. Together, ULTRA and Samsung will provide attendees with the experience of a lifetime.

The fun kicks off in Cape Town on Friday, 24 February at the Cape Town Greenpoint Stadium and then moves to the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on 25 February. ULTRA ticket holders can expect to be entertained by the likes of South African music sensations, Black Coffee, Timo ODV and Euphonik, as well as famous international DJs like David Guetta, Martin Garrix and DJ Snake, to name a few. “This is the first time that Samsung has sponsored the ULTRA Music Festival and we are excited to make this a memorable occasion,” says Justin Hume, Director: Marketing at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

Samsung Galaxy experience zones at ULTRA will integrate innovative products to enhance the event experience. These zones can be accessed at both the Johannesburg and Cape Town ULTRA festival. Here, partygoers will be able to try out some of Samsung’s Virtual Reality devices at the Samsung Virtual Reality zone. The Samsung Ultra Violet (UV) Art area will afford visitors the opportunity to go for UV face paint and to have their selfies taken under a UV light. The Video Jockey (VJ) space will allow attendees to take their ULTRA videos and mix these with a range of songs and sound bites. Attendees can also look forward to Audio Visual activities, the ‘selfie to avatar’ photos and images, giveaways and much more.

Johannesburg ULTRA attendees can join the Samsung Galaxy Stage to listen to some of South Africa’s top DJs. In addition, they have teamed up with 94.7 FM, allowing aspiring DJs to submit their mixes and one lucky South African stand a chance to be part of the opening act on the Samsung Galaxy Experience Stage at ULTRA Johannesburg.

Should attendees need time-out, the Samsung Chill Room is the place to be with seating, refreshments and a bar. The Samsung Viewing Deck will give visitors a bird’s-eye view of the concert without the crowd, offering some conversation time while enjoying the show.

More excitement can be expected at ULTRA Johannesburg with the Samsung Train that will transport visitors around the Nasrec Expo Centre giving them a view of the concert, passing the Galaxy Experience stage. Samsung Gear VR Virtual reality headsets will also be featured with roller-coaster and other previous ULTRA event content should you want an alternative reality.

“The music talent that ULTRA is bringing to South Africa, along with Samsung’s technology innovations are sure to make ULTRA SA 2017 a great success and spectacular experience. These two brands coming together is a seamless fit, providing South Africans with unique tech innovations and a creative music festival,” concludes Hume.
